Great news for some Maryland residents. Takoma Park will be providing some residents with $1,000 in Covid-19 cash relief payments.
Let’s dive into politics. The District’s criminal code is slated for its first complete overhaul since it was written in 1901. Certain provisions could clog up the courts or lower criminal penalties just as the city faces prevalent concerns over public safety.
Let’s move on to sports. The Washington Commanders fans booed and asked for the team to be sold after the co-owner, Tanya Snyder, said: “Hail to the [previous name of the Commanders]” in her speech. The public opinion found it irresponsible for saying the horrific slur that ultimately made the team change its name.
