Emmys to BET Awards, D.C. is taking it all!

Have you heard all the D.C. Statehood talk and have been wondering why D.C. should become a state? Well, the Washington City Paper shared a few bullet points on why we should become the 51st state. Watch now on BridgeTV.

The oh-so-fly, A Bathing Ape also referred to as Bape, is collaborating with New Balance and we must say the shoe is fire. But, we want to hear from you DMV. Are they HOT or NOT?

Ladies and gentlemen, do we have a sneaky millionaire amongst us? Well, according to DMV Hoodz and Newz, D.C.’s own Ant Glizzy is worth 2-3.5 million with a yearly salary of 500-700k. If this at all accurate, Ant Glizzy sets a new trend of entrepreneurial income here in the city.

D.C., let’s talk weed. The National Cannabis Festival is back August 28th featuring hip-hop legends Redman and Method Man (who also just graced the stage with DC’s own Taraji P. Henson on the BET Awards). The festival will also feature performances from Backyard Band, Antibalas, and more. For more information visit: nationalcannibasfestival.com.

Speaking of the BET awards, DMV’s own Ari Lennox graced the stage with songstress Jazmine Sullivan. Take a look at this monumental moment now on BridgeTV.

DMVs own IDK is now a part of the NIKE family. Who knows what great magic will come out of this but we are surely excited and will fill you in on all the updates. Also, don’t miss his KIDD Family Reunion Cookout this weekend July 5th. It will be hosted by radio personalities Angie Ange and Little Bacon Bear from 93.9 WKYS.

Great news D.C., zero covid deaths have been reported for the last seven days. Meaning, COVID-19 ain’t taking us out! Let’s go enjoy this weekend! On another note, congratulations to WUSA9’s own Ariane Datil, my fashion buddy, who just snagged two Emmys for her amazing reporting. You can watch them receive the awards on BridgeTV.

R.I.P. to jumbo slice boxes. No longer are the days of having your huge slice protected in a box. Now, it will have to be in between two plates as the city is saying the boxes are creating too much trash.

In sports, the Washington Nationals outfielder Kyle Schwarber gets seven leadoff home runs. That’s a lot of runs. The most in MLB this season. If you want to stay in shape like Kyle,  come get with the WeFit DC event this weekend. They are providing a free full-body workout and refreshments at the Walter E. Washington Community Center in Southeast. Head over to their Instagram at @WEFITDC  for more details.

Well, there you have it, Ladies & Gentlemen. This sums up What’s Going On D.C. Follow me @TheMediaPrince on everything and follow the hashtag #WGODC.
