Chai London, an English fashion designer, has recently made a splash in Washington, D.C. Relocating by way of Brooklyn, New York, and she is already making waves in the fashion scene with her sustainably sourced and produced clothing line. With a mission to eliminate fast fashion and encourage consumers to be more eco-conscious in their purchases, Chai London is quickly gaining a reputation for her timeless wardrobe pieces and luxury casuals.
At a young age, Chai London’s unmistakable creativity shone brightly. Her innate artistic flair and desire to delve into fashion led her to a transformative journey.

She works closely with a Black-owned manufacturer in Brooklyn, establishing a solid partnership based on shared values and meticulous attention to quality. She maintains exclusivity by producing in small quantities and supporting the community.
Chai London’s fashion line uses natural, sustainable, and ethical materials such as bamboo cotton, Pima cotton, hemp fabrics, and kapok. She aims to move forward with these materials to test her sustainability efforts and educate people on the importance of sustainable clothing. The fashion industry can be toxic and detrimental to the environment, and Chai London hopes to change that with her brand.
Approaching her ten-year mark in the US, Chai felt compelled to seek a new adventure and landed in Washington, D.C. She was drawn to the city’s reputation as a hub for Black-owned businesses and its strong sense of community. Along with her passion for sustainability and creativity, Chai has been inspired by D.C. culture, from its diverse architecture and thriving art scene to the vibrant energy of its people. After coming from New York, she finds D.C.’s unique charm and character refreshing and hopes to infuse this inspiration into her designs.
Chai’s move to D.C. has brought her closer to a vibrant community she is eager to connect with through pop-up opportunities and events. Each limited edition drop is a testament to her sustainability efforts, encouraging customers to embrace a conscious approach to fashion. As she continues settling into the city and immersing herself in its unique charm, Chai looks forward to the spring and summer in D.C., eagerly anticipating the experiences and influences shaping her future collections.
