What’s going on DC? April 10th, 2021

Happy Friday ladies and gentlemen! We are excited to bring you our tenth episode of What’s Going On DC. The DMV has been on a roll with so many amazing things happening here. Let’s dive right in.

Let’s head straight into sports. The Washington Football Team announces all 17 games of the 2021 season and the opposing teams. The team has been gearing up and we’re looking forward to seeing the new wins this year.

In let’s head outside news, all D.C. residents ages 16 and up will be eligible for the COVID-19 vaccine starting April 19th. This is exciting news, especially as the weather gets nicer. It’s the freeing feeling of normalcy that has everyone in a good mood.

In music, our favorite girl, Ari Lennox, joins forces with Queen Naji for a fire new track entitled ‘Set Him Up’. Also, congratulations to DMV’s own, Dayon Greene, who is a semi-finalist for BET’s Amplified music contest. We also wish congratulations to DMV’s own super-producer, Harto, on his first #1 debut album on Billboard with recording artist, Rod Wave.

In groundbreaking news, Bowie State University makes HBCU history as the first university to build a stop-motion animation studio. This is a huge opportunity for communications majors of color.

Martha’s Table announces that all D.C. residents can now access the Martha’s Outfitters Boutique virtually. D.C. officials also announced a number of relaxations in COVID-19 restrictions. Didn’t I say it almost time to go outside again! For all the updates, tune into BridgeTV.

Our beautiful Southeast baby, Taraji P. Henson, is named one of People Magazine’s Most Beautiful People. We here totally agree! D.C. has again proven it stands for “divinely captivating”. Don’t at me.

Great news, the beloved Crystals Skating Ring, also known as Temple Hills Skating Ring, will no longer be closing. Let’s get out there and get our skate on!

Tomorrow, Saturday, April 10th, the #FREETONYLEWIS Rally will take place at Black Lives Matter Plaza from 2 pm – 4 pm. We all want to see change, so let’s show up!
