What’s going on DC? March 5th, 2021

Welcome back to What’s Going On D.C., let’s kick off March with a bang.

Let’s start with a huge congratulations to DMV’s own Everything Legendary, a black owned plant-based burger company located in Largo MD. This past week they struck a $300,000 deal with Billionaire Mark Cuban on ABC’s SharkTank.

The weather is becoming nice again and the National Park Service has announced the Cherry Blossoms are coming. That’s right, the National Cherry Blossom Festival is back with a variety of virtual and in-person events starting March 20 through April 11th.

For all my Jazz lovers, The Washington Performing Arts presents “Come As You Are” free virtual concert, to attend head to Steven Blanks Saxophone.

Well, we talked about D.C. students returning to school. Well, looks like starting Monday, March 8, Montgomery County Public Schools will re-open for in-person learning and here at The Bridge we are a little unsure about this. We want to hear your thoughts. Comment below.

We often take advantage of the name Chocolate City, a magical place we call home. Let’s take a moment and see exactly how beautiful the history of our D.C. culture is and why D.C. will always be Chocolate City. Check out the throwbacks in the video.

While we are on the subject of D.C., as if we ever left. Gucci released its D.C. vs Everybody t-shirt for the retail price of $390 and it has a lot of the city in an uproar for taxing our culture. Check out some of the responses in the video and let us know how you feel in the comments D.C.!

Crown Royal Apple and D.C.’s own Rock Creek Social Club presents “Heros & Hustlers”. Together they will be highlighting notable female figures in the D.C. area for Women’s History Month.

Hey baseball fans, the Nationals are coming back for a new season and the critics have been waiting patiently. But, don’t get too excited just yet. The Nationals Park will open for Baseball this season but no fans will be allowed for now until COVID restrictions permit.

DMV’s own IDK has social media going crazy as he deleted everything off his Instagram page and is telling us to follow a new page. We here at The Bridge wonder what this dynamic artist is up to? Whatever the case, we are here for it.

This weekend BWI Motorsports is having its official grand opening. I, The Media Prince, will be there, so come on out and see the action in person.

In “I still can’t believe they’re still hating news”, a bill has been reintroduced in D.C. government to put new limits on amplified music in public spaces in D.C. The Long Live GOGO Movement aka Moechella, says this will not be tolerated and next week they plan to address it. We’lll have more details for you coming soon.

Before we go, I’d like to shout out all the amazing and gifted black women who make the Washington Informer and The Bridge as great as you see today. We wish a huge congratulations to Washington Informer for reaching 10K followers on Twitter and look forward to the effects on Instagram very soon!
