Welcome Home Fat Trel & Are You Ready For A New Mayor?

What’s up DMV! We made it through another week which reminds me of my favorite four words; Thank God it’s Friday!

We’ve got some good stuff for you this week. From whose running for the D.C. Mayor to which social media star will be on the Zeus Network. Welcome to What’s Going On D.C.?! Im your boy The Media Prince and of course, I am bringing you all things DMV.

Let’s start the trending news off with the biggest news to hit the city, the return of Fat Trel. DC’s superstar recording artist Fat Trel was released from prison over the weekend and let’s just say he’s back! Following his release, the star has been seen at studio sessions and will perform this weekend with Lil Durk at WEG STUDIOS. Let’s take a look at the moment of his release now on BridgeTV.

Now let’s switch gears to another emcee, New York’s own Jim Jones. He’s making headlines when he said New York City made Nike Boots hot! Now we all know, D.C. made those boots a trend.

Ari Lennox discussed her opinion on what is nasty with Genius. You can take a look now on BridgeTV. Also, the DMV’s own Tamara Jade shut down the stage with John Legend with a go-go swing.

Do you remember the show 106 & Park? If so, you gotta remember Rocsi. Well, did you know she is currently a student at Bowie State University? The entertainment journalist and actress is a proud attendee of BSU. Check out a recent post from her Instagram on BridgeTV.

Wale graces the cover of Uproxx Magazine and Taraji P. Henson is the face of Women’s Health Magazine. Two of our own are doing the damn thing! Go stream the new Wale album now!

I mentioned the Zeus Network earlier, well our favorite social media influencer, D.C.’s own Rolling Ray will be featured on their new show ‘The Conversation with Bobby Lytes’. Take a look now on BridgeTV.

DMV’s own 35 Under 35, Azel Prather aka Hail Zel, is an amazing teacher known for his creative approach to helping kids in our area. He’s now making his talents available to everyone via the release of his children’s educational hip-hop mixtape ‘Move with Mr. Prather’. These songs are giving ‘Baby Shark’ a run for its money. Check it out now on all streaming services.

Howard University students are protesting horrible living conditions on the campus, including mold and more! This week, Gucci Mane’s 1017 artists are standing in solidarity with the students as they canceled their homecoming show and joined the protests. C’mon HU!

Did you see the robot dogs make an appearance in D.C.? Take a look now on BridgeTV courtesy of The DMV Daily. D.C.’s youngest city council member, Ward 8’s Trayon White, announced that he is running for Mayor. Make sure to get out there and vote and let your voice be heard. The time is now!

Lastly, I want to say happy birthday to us! The Washington Informer celebrated 57 years in business this week. It’s beautiful to see the continued legacy of such a historical paper that is still just as snazzy today. Cheers to us!
