Lastly, Appeals Court Judges have sided with D.C. and are against the city’s Police Union in the suit over the police reform legislation. This decision upholds a law that gives the D.C. Police Department more power to discipline or fire officers accused of misconduct.

In general news, American University’s staff are continuing their strike today, as contract negotiations have reached a standstill over pay raises.

Thousands of D.C. families will get one-time payments of $1,000 from the city to help with back-to-school expenses. Meanwhile, construction on the long-awaited Barry Farms redevelopment is set to begin next month.

DC Public Schools are shifting 50 central office members to serve as substitutes. Currently, there are about 150 open positions. Get on it if you are looking for employment in the education field.

Entertainment shall we? Fat Joe gives DJ Quicksilva his flowers in an exciting Instagram video. While on the subject of Quicksilva, here is something positive we can all learn from. Check it out now on BridgeTV.

DMV’s own Cordae makes an epic appearance in the new Madden ‘23 commercial. That’s another win for our area’s music scene.

Let’s end things off with “What’s Happening Around Town”.

The Atlantic Festival will be coming to The Wharf next month featuring Dr. Fauci. Summer isn’t over yet, these are the restaurants that are extending the Summer Restaurant Week deals:

Agora, Alta Strada, Ambar, Bresca, China Chilcano, and Oyamel Cocina Mexicana!

With all that eating, get fit this weekend with The DMV Daily and Abundant Fitness for their “Fitchella”. Also while on BridgeTV, meet the 17-year-old from D.C. who has become the youngest licensed Black pilot in the United States. His name is Christopher Ballinger!

This weekend also welcomes back the 8th Annual Ubiquitous Women’s Expo at the Convention Center. Lastly, The AcademyDC is looking for sound engineers in the area. Get on it now!
