Ari Lennox gets comfort from Nicki Minaj?

Here we go again with another week of awesomeness in the DMV. Let’s start off in politics. D.C.’s Mayor Bowser has proposed a $9.4 million dollar camera expansion plan that will mark D.C. as the most expensive city in the country for moving infractions. The Maryland General Assembly passes a bill to ban “ghost guns” in the state, and D.C.’s Ward 8 Councilmember Trayon White helped with the federal judgment to block D.C. from allowing minors to get vaccinated without parental consent or knowledge.

In general news, Arlington Police are investigating four reports of random pellets and paintball shootings from various vehicles. D.C. native, Rajah Caruth, will compete in his first-ever NASCAR Xfinity Series race, coming soon. Baltimore went viral after Ukraine received $14 billion from the U.S., as local conditions worsen and are in need of assistance. Lastly, congratulations to Queen Anunay. The D.C. native, with over 30 years in public service, was promoted as D.C.’s first woman Assistant Fire Chief.

Diving into the entertainment world, let’s send congratulations to Virginia’s own Missy “Misdemeanor” Elliott on having all six of her albums be certified Platinum. This is a first in hip-hop history. 757 please stand up! D.C.’s own recording artist 3ohBlack posed with Black-ish star Anthony Anderson in Los Angeles. Nicki Minaj gave advice and birthday wishes to the DMV’s own Ari Lennox and let’s just say it was iconic! Speaking of iconic, D.C.’s own Top Dolla Sweizy’s brand “Sweizy” has caught the likes of Lil Boosie and his team. They even flew him in to check out the gear.

In sports, The Washington Commanders posted Kyle Hamilton as pick 11 for Mock Draft Monday.

Now let’s end things off with what’s happening here in town. The Hyattsville Branch Library in Prince George’s County is officially back open to the public. The newly renovated, 40,000 sq. ft. library will now also offer event space. Go check it out and let us know what you think!
