Turner’s broadcasting career began at Prince George’s Community Television (CTV).
Paul McGonagle, Vice President and News Director, praised Turner’s return to the DMV area, calling it a homecoming for her and a homerun for FOX 5. Turner expressed excitement about returning to her roots, saying, “The DMV is my home, and I can’t wait to pour back into the community that’s helped shape me into who I am today.”

A two-time Emmy-nominated journalist, Turner has covered significant national stories, including the opening of the National Museum of African American History and Culture, the 2017 Presidential Inauguration, and the COVID-19 pandemic. Her notable interviews include a one-on-one with Martin Luther King III and coverage of the tragic shooting of three University of Virginia football players.
Turner is a Rutgers University alumna, holding a Bachelor of Arts degree in Journalism/Media Studies with a minor in Japanese. She is a passionate advocate for the ALS Association, breast cancer early detection, and a member of the National Association of Black Journalists (NABJ). Turner also actively participates in the Rutgers Alumni Mentoring Program.
Her appointment to FOX 5 DC is not just a professional milestone but a personal achievement, as she shared on social media, “The secret is out! I’ve landed my dream job as a morning anchor at home in the #DMV.” She expressed her gratitude to her agent and remembered her grandmother, who was proud of her achievements.
