During Howard University’s historic 100th Annual Homecoming Week, a groundbreaking documentary on the university’s Skateboard Club made its debut, spotlighting the first-ever skateboard club at an HBCU. Directed by Washington, DC-based filmmaker Jusb, the film explores the club’s global impact and the unique role it plays in shaping the culture of skateboarding on historically Black college campuses.
Hosted by The Washington Informer Bridge and C01 Atelier, the screening took place at C01 Atelier, just steps away from Howard University’s campus. The standing-room-only event attracted students, alumni, and members of the local community eager to learn about the journey and significance of this pioneering club. Proceeds from the event will help support the film’s future distribution and continued exploration of skate culture in diverse spaces.
