We welcome you back for another week of DMV greatness. Starting with our general news, in Maryland, a legislator has approved the name change for Indian Head Highway since a Native American tribe has claimed the name is offensive. Also, starting last weekend, Virginia State Police are adding additional enforcement on I-95 and DC‘s chief of police says staffing shortages are starting to cause delays in emergency responses. It looks like Howard University Hospital employees are going on strike. Hundreds of workers at the hospital have announced a one day strike next week in response to wage complaints.

In sports, the Washington Mystics have selected Shakira Austin as their number three overall pick in the 2022 WNBA Draft. Take a look now on BridgeTV. Huge shoutout to Washington Capitals star, Garnet Hathaway, for getting his 12th career high-goals score.

By now you have all heard about the DMV rapper GOONEW and his viral funeral. Well, both Bliss Night Club and the mother of the late rapper responded to the criticism. Take a look on BridgeTV. DMV’s own Rico Nasty interviews and teams up with pop/rock icon Avril Lavigne. If you then you know that this is quite epic! While on the subject of epic, D.C.’s own Taraji P. Henson just announced that President Biden has appointed her to serve on his HBCU Board of Advisors.

In politics, Prince George’s County Executive Angela Alsobrooks endorsed Wes Moore for Governor. In D.C, Big G from Backyard Band says he is running for City Council At-Large.

This weekend the Blossom Block Fest presented by The Museum, Chris Pyrate, and the Congress Heights Training & Development Corporation is happening with a lot of fun things to do. Lastly, DJ Quicksilva launched his second school for DJs in Southeast D.C. We spoke about his first school in Baltimore a few weeks ago. Now, we can look forward to another here in our own backyard.
